In a practice match between Zuruggu and Kibago, the match is interrupted by a gust of wind followed by the appearance of a Monmen. Dent realizes that it is the time of year that Monmen pair up and that this male Monmen must be looking for a mate. While they watch it find a female Monmen that he has fallen in love with, they watch as she attacks him because he is too weak. Zuruggu steps forward, wanting to help Monmen to become stronger and braver, but Zuruggu's Scary Face sends it cowering behind a tree stump. Satoshi then steps in, helping train Monmen against Zuruggu, as Team Rocket watches the Monmen swarm from afar. Kibago and Monmen train next, with Kibago teaching Monmen accuracy for its Energy Ball, and then Ishizumai goes up against Monmen to test its Razor Leaf and Solar Beam. Satoshi then sends out Hatoboh to search for the other Monmen so Monmen can get a mate as Team Rocket calls in for new supplies. As soon as Satoshi and the others reach the Monmen swarm, a gust of wind blows up from Team Rocket's large fan, catching all the Monmen in a bag. Satoshi sends out Hatoboh to slice open the bag with Air Cutter, freeing the Monmen and dispatching Team Rocket. Later, the Monmen they have been training with finally defeats several other male Monmen, impressing the same female Monmen from before and getting a mate. The next day, as the perfect conditions are finally met, Satoshi, Iris, Dent, Pikachu, Kibago, and Zuruggu watch all the paired Monmen drift away on the wind to a new life together.
